Enactus UK welcomes 100 students for an exclusive Responsible Leaders Accelerator
On the 26th September, Enactus UK hosted an exclusive accelerator event for students from 59 Universities across the UK. The event prepared students for the future world of world and engaged responsible young leaders in career and industry insight discussions with leading responsible employers across the UK.
This year ten of the Enactus UK partner organisations supported the event, which featured panel discussions on wellbeing and resilience in the workplace as well as sessions looking at creative confidence, commercial awareness and mock assessment centre and recruitment activities. The event also produced an insightful discussion between partner and student attendees on the future skills, attributes and attitudes needed for the world of work, identifying emotional intelligence as one of the most important skills that is crucial for students entering the workplace.
Andrew Bacon, CEO of Enactus UK said about the day – “Thanks to the incredibly personal and open insights by the panellists and facilitators from our partners, I could see how the views and insights of the students attending the event were both informed and transformed. A focus on ‘how to” rather than just ‘what to do” matched with personal reflections and lessons learned made the day unique.”
Mary Njoroge, a student from the University of Nottingham who attended the event said, “The Responsible Leaders Accelerator event was an insightful conference that opened and introduced me to networks that I will find really helpful when applying for jobs, it was an interactive day that offered a platform for growth and experience”.
