Previous Enactus University: Manchester
Current Role: Graduate, HR
My Enactus journey started as a project member in the Manchester team. I quickly became passionate for what they do, taking on a number of roles including project leader and vice-president. As University came to an end I couldn’t bare to leave, so I decided to work for Enactus UK!
Enactus allowed me to drive the changes I was passionate about, which left me unsure whether I could find a role which would encompass all my interests. At regional competition that changed, I met the graduate recruitment team at Amey, who were enthusiastic about Enactus and their organisation.
They fully recognise the skills you acquire as an Enactus student and believe they can be utilised and developed within Amey. After a quick chat, their friendly approach and interest in finding a role which suited my skillset encouraged me to research into the company. I was amazed by the innovation they drive and the great opportunities available.
With two years experience in developing students I decided the HR was for me however, I also had a keen interest in finance due to my degree and previous roles within Enactus Manchester. The graduate team put me in touch with my current people manager, who developed a role encompassing all interests along with support in gaining HR professional status, though CIPD.
I’m now involved in operational HR, inclusion & diversity and process improvement across group shared support services. Furthermore, my desire to develop financial skills has been fulfilled through managing and reporting on a combined yearly budget of £9 million.
