Careers Accelerator is a programme that helps students from underrepresented backgrounds prepare for jobs in the tech sector through a combination of employer workshops, work placements and career mentorship. Tech businesses benefit from being able to work with diverse talent who contribute towards their business, as well as the opportunity to improve their reputation as an inclusive employer.
Mayur developed the idea for Career Accelerator while participating in the Year Here Programme as he was placed at the Globe Academy in Elephant and Castle. He went on to work on a brief set by East Thames Housing Association to better understand the social and economic needs of the residents of the Gascoigne ward of Barking and Dagenham.
Before Year Here, Mayur studied Business at the University of Nottingham and was a member of the Enactus Nottingham Team, working on various project initiatives. He has also previously worked in Kenya as a business mentor with Balloon Ventures.
