Following the mandatory post-competition audit of the UK National Champion Team,
and a review of the findings with Enactus Southampton, a significant issue was
identified with the evidenced level of impact as claimed. The consequence of which is
that the second place team - Enactus King’s College London - will now represent
Enactus UK at the Enactus World Cup in September.
Following a request for further evidence, the Enactus Southampton team visited the
site of their Juamaji project and immediately identified an issue to Enactus UK as in the
fact the project was not as advanced as communicated to them by their project partner
Throughout the audit process, Enactus Southampton has demonstrated
professionalism and integrity and worked collaboratively with Enactus UK to establish
the facts. Therefore, in this unfortunate circumstance, whilst we are fully supportive of
the team, they are no longer eligible to represent Enactus UK at the Enactus World
Cup in September 2017.
After referring the facts of the audit to Enactus World Wide, and further discussions
with the Enactus UK Board, the decision was taken for Enactus Kings College London
to be promoted to represent the UK at the 2017 World Cup.
"Despite our disappointment, I would like to say on behalf of the Enactus Southampton
team, we are completely behind Enactus KCL in their endeavours at the World Cup,
and we will support them in any way we can in the lead up and during the event."
Enactus Southampton President and Team Leader.
Note: The Enactus World Cup will take place in London from 26th-28th September 2017
at the Excel, London.
