Many of our Enactus University teams across the UK work with schools to deliver training, to educate and to inspire and raise aspirations of young people across the UK.
You can read about some of these projects below.
Technopreneurship - Enactus Imperial
The uptake of STEM subjects at A-Level and degree level in London is very poor. Statistics showed that in 2016, the UK had the lowest amount of female engineers in the whole of Europe.
Technopreneurship aims to equip Year 9 students with science and business knowledge. The science workshops are based on crime scene investigations (CSI) to inspire young people and help them to understand science and how to apply their knowledge to real life scenarios. The business workshops allow the pupils to have a basic knowledge of how start up their own enterprise.
WRAP - Enactus GCU
Castlemilk in Glasgow is an area that suffers from high levels of deprivation and high youth unemployment. The Glasgow Caledonian University team work with school leavers with low academic attainment to introduce them to prospects of college and university through their own programme WRAP - Work Ready Action Plan.
Following a two-phase process, WRAP exposes pupils to the variety of opportunities available after leaving school, including visits to companies, colleges and volunteering opportunities within phase one. Phase two sees each pupil paired with a mentor to work through tailored workshops in interviews, CV’s and applications.
