World Cup Showcase 2017
On Wednesday 16th August 2017, we were delighted to host our first World Cup showcase with one of our newest Sponsor companies; JellyFish, taking place in their offices at The Shard where guests enjoyed fantastic views across London.
We welcomed guests from both our Sponsor Companies, including many of our World Cup Host Country Sponsors (Enterprise Rent-A-Car, AIG, Coca-Cola) as well as guests from across the Social Sector (Social Enterprise UK, Challenges WorldWide, Raleigh International).
The evening started off with some networking between our sponsors and our Enactus students who attended from our teams across the UK and the team from Enactus King’s College London who will be representing the United Kingdom at the Enactus World Cup in September.
Speeches included Enactus UK CEO Andrew Bacon, who introduced the evening and talked about the importance of attending the World Cup to see the amazing impact created by Enactus students around the world. JellyFish Chief Financial Officer Chris Lee who gave an introduction into what Jellyfish do and why they are so excited to be supporting Enactus. Closing the evening, Lord Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE, Global Head of Citizenship at KPMG International, spoke about the importance of Enactus students in creating a better world and why he and KPMG are such big supporters of the Enactus programme on a global scale.
Of course, the main highlight of the evening was hearing from the Enactus KCL team, who delivered their world cup presentation and spoke about the great impact they have achieved through their project LightMountain which provides cleaner cooking and fuel solutions to the rural community in Tanzania.
The evening ended with some more networking which gave the guests a chance to go and speak to the Enactus KCL team and provide feedback on their presentation to help them on their journey to the Enactus World Cup in September.
Overall it was a wonderful evening and we would like to say thank you to all of our guests who were able to join us and a special thank you to JellyFish for hosting us and for their hospitality!
