What is Enactus UK?
Enactus aims to support young people in the UK (up to the age of 25) to engage in youth social action and youth social enterprise. Our mission in the UK is to be recognised as a leader in developing a national network of socially-minded young leaders of the future who transform communities and society through real life social action and environmentally responsible enterprise.
We are dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. The Enactus network of global business, academic and student leaders are unified by our vision—to create a better, more sustainable world
We have an established University programme which has been running since 2001 and now operates in 59 Universities across the UK, engaging up to 3000 students each year.
What we do:
We make the connection between character education and the world of work, enabling young people to develop the knowledge and attitudes they need to succeed, building on the experience of youth social action, enterprise and entrepreneurship. We work with educational professional, business leaders, mentors, specialists and Alumni who combine to create a unique co-curricular enterprising environment.
What Enactus students do:
With the support of the programme and all the 600+ mentors and advisors, Enactus students deliver support to over 7,500 beneficiaries each year through the delivery of over 200 socio-economic and environmental projects.
What we offer:
Our aim is to support as many young people in the UK to gain the employability and personal character benefits of youth social action/enterprise up to the age of 25 as possible from a range of backgrounds. We offer our Secondary Schools programme (from 2018) through to our University Programme.
Each year, every team gives a dynamic 12 minute presentation to a panel of guest judges from our sponsor companies, explaining their solutions and how their social enterprises are improving lives. Teams compete regionally, nationally and one team from each country goes through to the world cup every year.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
World leaders have announced 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. In all countries. For all people. The Goals are bold: end poverty, fight inequality and tack climate change by 2030. If we are going to transform the world by 2030, we need a new approach.
The Global Goals serve as a framework for the sustainable change we’ve been creating for years. At Enactus, we’ve found an approach that works. One that creates sustainable, lasting change. Entrepreneurial Action, business Innovation that creates social impact.
We are already taking entrepreneurial action to create a better world for us all. But we’ve got more work to do.
Together, we can achieve the Global Goals.
