Social Mobility Foundation - Feeding The Nation Webinar

The Social Mobility Foundation are inviting YOU to join us on the 26th September, 5-6PM for a food-for-thought discussion!

With 795 million people worldwide having limited access to food, let’s talk about our role in ‘Feeding the Nation’. Who’s responsible? Join the conversation by registering below!

According to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the right to food is where ‘every man, woman and child, alone or in community with others, has physical and economic access at all times to adequate food or means for its procurement’. Yet, 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life. In the UK, the number of children living in food poverty has nearly doubled in the last year to almost 4 million, with 9.3 million adults also having experienced food insecurity in January 2023.

As the global population has passed 8 billion and continues to grow, there is immense pressure to ensure access to food for all. This raises a larger question of: whose responsibility is it to feed the nation?
