What is a VPE?

The Vice President of Engagement (VPE) plays a crucial role in managing the relationship between the Enactus Team and the broader support network. Your primary objective is to expand and strengthen this network to enhance the impact of our projects. Collaborating closely with partner organisations, you’ll also facilitate employability sessions for the team, leveraging your network’s support. As a VPE, you represent the Enactus UK Brand, and your interactions with business coaches are essential for providing feedback to Enactus UK; regular communication is vital to fulfilling your responsibilities effectively.

The VPE is often considered the most employable role at Enactus and for good reason! Throughout the year, you will develop valuable skills, including:

  • Communication

  • Time Management

  • Relationship Management

  • Adaptability and Resilience

  • Organisation

  • Flexibility

  • Leadership

The more you put into this role, the more you will get out. No Enactus role works as closely with our partner organisations so make the most of the opportunity!

  • As your team’s VPE, organising, facilitating and chairing your monthly support network meeting is a critical responsibility. This meeting involves your committee, project leaders, Business Coaches, and University Advisors to leverage their expertise and experience in supporting your team’s project development, organisation, and employability.

To fulfil this requirement, you must schedule these meetings within the first two weeks of every month to maintain strong working relationships with your support network.

After each meeting, it is essential to send an email to everyone in your team, Business Coaches and University Advisors. This email should include the agenda covered during the meeting and the meeting notes. This practice ensures effective communication and collaboration among all team members and stakeholders, keeping everyone informed and engaged in the project’s progress and development.

THE VPE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

VPE Support Network

Who are your key stakeholders?

    • Make sure your team leader and committee understand your role and how you can support the wider team and their projects.

    • Share this information with your wider team. If they understand how your network fits together they will be better able to support you!

    • Work with your committee to construct an empathy map for each key group of stakeholders to understand their perspectives and improve your communication with the different groups.

    • Follow the VPE 101 and ensure you hold the monthly support network meetings and are well prepared for them - communication is everything!

VPE Mentors

Who are they?
The Enterprise Mobility VPE Mentors are experienced employees of Enterprise Mobility & are here to support you specifically in your role over the next year. It is vital you maintain a rapport with your mentor as they will be able to aid your communication skill development and support your progression. The VPE role is the only Enactus position with a specific mentor due to the importance of the role. This is the most important relationship to build in the role.

What support will you get?
Enterprise VPE Mentors can support VPEs through regular contact in the following ways:

Top Tip: Ask questions! Your relationship with your VPE Mentor is a great opportunity for you to develop goals, look at your own personal and professional development and prepare you for graduating. Make sure that you work with them to help develop yourself as a VPE!

Enterprise VPE Monthly Challenges

This is a partner competition open to VPEs only. At all stages of the competition process, teams and VPEs are strongly encouraged to work closely with their Enterprise Mobility, as this is part of the assessment process. Monthly Challenges must be completed on time each month for VPEs to continue in the competition.
