GOAL: ENSURE AVAILABILITY AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL.

“One in three people live without sanitation. This is causing unnecessary disease and death. Although huge strides have been made with access to clean drinking water, lack of sanitation is undermining these advances. If we provide affordable equipment and education in hygiene practices, we can stop this senseless suffering and loss of life.”

Want to know what makes SanEco an EXCELLENT Enactus Project? Read on below!

    • In Kisii, Kenya, communities were experiencing little to no sanitation and toilets and a lack of sanitary products for girls and women, causing them to miss around 25% of their education.

    • Furthermore, 50% of schools were at risk of shutdown for lack of sanitation facilities.

    • SanEco aims to educate communities, provide sanitation, and erase period stigma to help empower women across the world.

    • SanEco’s Comfort and Protection team design reusable sanitary towels and empower entrepreneurs in Kenya with the knowledge to make them alongside business knowledge to grow a business. These entrepreneurs learn new skills, sell the towels at an affordable price to women in local communities, combat the issue of poor menstrual sanitation in these areas, and tackle taboos.

    • Saneco has also implemented composting toilets, which convert waste into fertiliser that can be sold to benefit the community.

    • SanEco has provided a hygienic and affordable solution for 884 women and girls in the village, for the first time! Testimony from the community is that women, mothers, and girls have been made much happier by the introduction of sanitary products.

    • In one year, SanEco assisted 15 widows to create their own businesses building SanEco Toilets, tripling their income and removing waste from the streets, and increasing the health of the community.
